Cast: link synopsis:
Three male astronauts from 2006 crash
land on a seemingly barren sand planet and find an opening leading
deep underground. BURKE (the captain), ROGERS (science officer)
and MILES (a developer who paid $l0 million for the trip) think
they've figuratively died and went to heaven when they discover
a society of young attractive women living without men. Their elation
is short-lived, however, as they learn they are in the year 2369
and that the earth above is barren of life.
Their arrival shocks and intrigues the women,
who have never seen men before. Led by judge JASMINE and prosecutor
IRIS, the women are holding a mock trial accusing past generations
of destroying the species of the world--which includes men, who
truly proved to be the weaker sex. Now even stored male sperm is
gone and the women are dying off at the age of 35 and all are doomed.
Jasmine, 34, who knows she has not long to
live, sees this as an opportunity to replenish the sperm bank and
save female humanity, but Iris, who covets Jasmine's power, is suspicious
of the men and wants them as real life defendants in their trial.
Meanwhile, younger women Daisy, chief engineer, and Heather show
the guys around. Rogers, the charmer, takes this opportunity to
show Heather how male-female courtship begins--by holding hands.
Heather is smitten.
Jasmine takes the men to the "library,"
which is where their sacred documents are stored, including the
Book Of Lily, the Holy Term Paper and the Sacred Disc. The men are
not allowed to examine these, but they do get a chance to look at
a "book” containing laminated newspaper articles from
the early 2lst century about environmental problems, and the "Twelve
Commandments" which hang on the wall along with pictures of
flowers. The commandments, including "Thou Shalt Not Drive
Cars" and "Remember The Flowers," and the other documents
come from Lily, a "prophet" and lawgiver who lived in
2006. The astronauts have never heard of Lily and scoff at all this
so-called divine guidance. Lily sees this as heresy and warns Jasmine
that they will try to take over. Jasmine tells Iris to wait and
see, pointing out that the men could be their salvation.

continued:
Meanwhile, Miles, the non-astronaut, is rough
with VIOLET, another young woman. Violet comes crying to Iris at
the same time Daisy (who's been ordered by Iris to spy on the men)
runs in with news that the men have gone into the library without
permission, a gross violation. Examining Lily’s documents,
the men discover that the prophet is actually a l3-year-old girl
who wrote a school term paper about the environment and talked about
her mundane life to a camcorder, which is recorded on the sacred
DVD disc. They are interrupted by Jasmine, Iris and guards and arrested,
unable to explain or show what they've learned.
The trial is something out of Alice In Wonderland.
There is no jury, just an audience of women. The men are seen as
guilty until proven innocent. Iris is prosecutor and defense attorney.
And Jasmine, acting as judge, is also called as a witness. Not surprisingly,
the men are found guilty. Iris wants them exiled, but Jasmine says
first they must propagate. This sentence results in a comedy of
errors, where the men are supposed to get excited by awkward and
completely naive women "milking" them with modified "turkey
basters." This process is a dismal failure, until Jasmine gets
an idea and teaches the women how to act sexy.
Daisy overhears Iris telling Jasmine the
men must die. This is shocking because one of the commandments is
"Thou shalt not kill--ever." Daisy and Heather, and later
Jasmine, help the men escape Iris and her guards. They go out a
secret passageway that leads through a labyrinth of warehouses storing
lumber and appliances from the distant past and into storm sewers.
Jasmine, dying because of organ degeneration caused by lack of sun,
has to be carried by Burke at the end.
They emerge into
the outer world, where grass, trees and flowers are starting to
grow again, amidst a plethora of old junked cars. Just before she
dies, Jasmine gets to hold and smell a flower, which she never thought
she'd be able to do. The Adams and Eves of the new world stand around
her grave holding hands for solidarity and decide to dedicate their
future efforts to her memory.
